I think I might be bisexual
OKAY.
Initially, I refrained from writing this blog entry because I didn't know if it was too personal or if it would come off as queerbaiting (p.s not entirely sure what that means but I have a vague idea).
So here's the situation: I think I might be bisexual but I'm not sure if I am and I don't want to come out and say anything until I'm sure.
Issue is, though, I don't know how I can be sure.
My entire childhood I've always taken a liking to certain fictional female characters (and male ones too).
For instance, her 😍
Her 💓
There's a lot more. And I think that's part of my issue. These women are fictional...beautiful, strong, funny but still fictional.
I also like fictional men like him 💞
and him 😍
and of course, him 💕
But again, these guys are all fictional.
I've had crushes on and dated boys but I've only ever had crushes on girls. And I saw online recently that there are more attractive women than there are men (which makes sense). So does that mean that my finding women attractive is just a statistical thing or does it mean I'm only attracted to fictional women.
I also think there's an added layer of fear. I don't think my family would accept me if I came out.
I don't know if my friends would look at me the same.
I don't know if I'd look at me the same.
I don't even know if I'd fit in well with the queer community.
I'm not posting this so a bunch of strangers on the internet can tell me who I am or the kind of person I like. I'm posting to see if anyone else feels like this or knows someone who they think might be feeling like this.
This is to build a safe space and to let you know (if you're questioning) that you are loved and you are you no matter who you love.
For now, (if I really am bi) I'll bide my time in the closet with my fictional crushes.
